Marketing & Content Associate

Be the voice and face of the Commuit brand.

Apply for this role Accra, Ghana (On-the-ground, Not Remote)
About Commuit

Commuit is redefining daily mass transit for professionals in Accra — safe, reliable, subscription-based shuttle buses on the busiest corridors. We are pre-launch, lean, and building a brand that does not just ride the wave of urban commuting frustration but becomes the obvious answer. We need a creative engine who can make Commuit unforgettable, one piece of content at a time.

The Role

You will be the voice, face, and creative force behind Commuit's brand. Your mission is to make Commuit the first name Ghanaians think of when they imagine a modern, reliable shuttle service. You will do that by telling compelling stories — on camera, in writing, and through campaigns — that stop the scroll, spark conversation, and ultimately fill our buses. This is a role for a content-obsessed, data-aware creative who is as comfortable speaking to a phone lens at 6 a.m. on a moving bus as they are studying video retention graphs and writing a researched piece on Ghana's transport landscape.

Key Responsibilities
1

Video Content Creation

  • Produce and publish short-form videos across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn — tailored natively to each platform's format and audience.
  • Be the primary on-camera talent: confident, energetic, and well-spoken enough to become the recognisable face of Commuit.
  • Generate a consistent stream of content ideas — rider perspectives, driver stories, commuter humour, behind-the-scenes of building a startup — and brief the Creative Visual Associate to execute.
  • Review edits, give clear and specific feedback, and ensure the final output matches the creative vision. Handle light trims yourself when turnaround demands it.
2

Content Performance & Optimisation

  • Monitor analytics for every piece of content: watch time, retention, share rate, and follower growth.
  • Use those insights to sharpen subsequent content — hooks, length, format, and structure — and translate findings into clear direction for the editor.
  • Report weekly on content performance and connect engagement data to downstream actions: link clicks, enquiries, and sign-ups.
3

Writing & Thought Leadership

  • Write researched articles and stories for Commuit's LinkedIn page and blog — topics that position Commuit as a thoughtful, credible voice in Ghana's urban transport conversation.
  • Weave the Commuit offer naturally into every piece without it reading like an advertisement — readers should learn something and remember our name.
  • Use AI writing tools to accelerate drafting, but inject original perspective, field interviews, and sharp editorial judgment throughout.
4

Campaigns & Activations

  • Conceive and execute creative, low-cost brand campaigns that get people talking — activations, referral challenges, influencer collaborations, and anything that breaks through the noise.
  • Support the sales team with lead-generating activations, ensuring every campaign connects awareness to conversion.
  • Test ideas quickly, measure the results honestly, double down on what works, and cut what does not — without ego.
5

Brand Consistency & Asset Management

  • Maintain a unified Commuit voice and visual identity across all channels — every post, caption, and campaign should feel unmistakably Commuit.
  • Manage a shared library of raw footage, photos, and brand assets accessible to the whole team.
  • Stay ahead of platform trends and cultural moments to insert Commuit into conversations early.
Who You Are

A content machine. You wake up with video ideas and end the day with drafts. Creating is not a task for you — it is a default state.

Camera-confident. You do not need a script to sound smart and relatable. You can make a 45-second video about a bus seat feel like must-watch content.

A storytelling strategist. You know that a viral video without a brand connection is just noise. You always tie the content back to what Commuit stands for — safety, reliability, and dignity.

Analytically curious. You do not post and pray. You study the numbers, spot patterns, and adjust your next upload — then translate those insights into clear instructions for the editor.

A hustler. You will film at 5:30 a.m. from a moving bus and spend the afternoon studying retention curves. No task is too unglamorous when you are building a brand from zero.

What You Will Gain
  • Creative ownership of an entire brand's voice from the earliest stage — the tone, formats, and campaigns you build will define how Commuit is perceived across Accra.
  • Direct mentorship from the CEO on brand strategy, content marketing, and building an audience with limited resources.
  • A live, public portfolio — videos, articles, and campaigns that ran in the real world and drove real results for a growing company.
  • A pathway to a permanent, full-time marketing role and commission-linked bonuses tied to measurable growth outcomes.
