Creative Visual Associate
Own Commuit's visual identity across film, design, and brand.
Commuit is building the most reliable, safe, and desirable daily shuttle service for professionals in Accra. Every day, we replace trotro chaos with guaranteed seats, predictable schedules, and a brand that feels like an upgrade. How people see us determines whether they trust us. That's where you come in.
You are the eyes of Commuit. You translate our mission into visuals that stop thumbs, fill buses, and close corporate deals. This is not a siloed design job. You will shoot footage of real commuters at dawn, edit that into a 45-second TikTok that makes someone say "I need this," design the pitch deck that lands a bank contract, and create the Instagram carousel that gets shared 500 times — all in the same week. You own the visual identity of a startup that's going to be everywhere. Your work will be seen by thousands of riders and the C-suites of Ghana's biggest companies. You must be fast, original, self-directed, and allergic to mediocrity.
Graphic Design (Social Media & Brand)
- ›Design high-impact, platform-native graphics for Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube — posts, stories, thumbnails, carousels, quote cards, event flyers, and ads.
- ›Maintain a cohesive visual brand across all channels: consistent colors, typography, and design language that make Commuit instantly recognizable.
- ›Create and update brand templates that the marketing associate can adapt, ensuring speed without losing quality.
- ›Design print-ready materials when needed: bus decals, flyers, route maps, office signage, and branded merchandise concepts.
Presentation & Pitch Deck Design
- ›Transform raw content (text, data, photos) into stunning, presentation-ready pitch decks for B2B sales meetings — clean, compelling, and tailored to each company.
- ›Design one-pagers, leave-behinds, and investor update documents that make numbers look beautiful.
- ›Build a library of reusable slide templates, charts, and visual assets that the sales team can assemble quickly.
Video Editing
- ›Edit 8–10 videos per week shot by the marketing associate (and yourself) into polished, scroll-stopping short-form content for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
- ›Apply tight pacing, captions, sound design, and platform-specific formatting that maximises retention and conversion.
- ›Collaborate with the marketing associate to understand the creative vision for each video, then execute it — or improve on it.
- ›Manage a fast turnaround: raw footage received in the morning should often be published by evening.
Videography & Emotional Storytelling
- ›Shoot original footage on the ground: morning commutes, rider reactions, driver portraits, bus interiors, street scenes, corporate activations, and events.
- ›Capture authentic moments that forge emotional connection — the relief on a rider's face, the dignity of a clean bus, the chaos of the alternative.
- ›Direct short "mini-docs" of the Commuit experience: a day in the life of a rider, a driver's story, the before-and-after of a corporate pilot.
- ›Set up and manage lighting, audio, and framing for on-camera pieces featuring the marketing associate or riders. You're the invisible hand behind every shot.
Brand Guardianship
- ›Own the visual side of the Commuit brand: ensure every asset that goes public — from a WhatsApp flyer to a YouTube thumbnail — meets a high bar of quality and consistency.
- ›Build and manage a searchable digital asset library (photos, raw footage, templates, logos) that the whole team can access.
- ›Proactively spot visual trends on each platform and bring ideas to the content team before they go mainstream.
Creative Independence & Speed
- ›Receive briefs, not instructions. You take a goal ("we need content about the new Spintex route") and figure out the best visual execution.
- ›Manage your own deadlines. The marketing calendar is aggressive; you must deliver ahead of schedule, not just on time.
- ›Use AI tools (Midjourney, Photoshop Generative Fill, CapCut AI, etc.) to accelerate ideation and production without losing the human touch.
A visual storyteller first, a tool-user second. You understand that a blurred iPhone photo of a real moment can beat a perfectly lit stock image. Emotion over polish.
Lightning-fast. You can turn around a TikTok edit in 2 hours and a pitch deck overnight when a deal is hot. You thrive under deadline pressure.
Self-sufficient. You don't wait for someone to tell you what to make. You see a gap on the Instagram grid and fill it. You hear about a corporate event and show up with a camera.
Brand-obsessed. You care deeply about how things look, but you care more about how they feel. You understand that a bus isn't just a bus — it's dignity, safety, and time.
Tech-fluent. You're comfortable across Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva, CapCut, and mobile editing apps. AI tools don't intimidate you; they accelerate you.
Curious about transport. You don't need to be a mobility nerd, but you're willing to ride buses at 5:30 a.m. to understand the product you're selling visually.
- 1–3+ years in graphic design, video editing, and videography (freelance, agency, or in-house) — a portfolio is mandatory. We want to see range: social graphics, edited videos, and something you shot yourself.
- Proficiency with video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve) and graphic design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or equivalent).
- Experience shooting with DSLR/mirrorless cameras and mobile phones — and knowing when each is the right tool.
- Basic motion graphics skills (After Effects or CapCut animations) are a strong plus.
- A portfolio that shows you understand pacing, narrative, and platform-native design — not just technical ability.
- Based in Accra with the ability to travel across the city for shoots at short notice.
